So I was talking in the last post about listening to some emotive music and that bringing out a lot of vibes, and these emotions stem from real issues, often that we don’t understand completely, that’s how we interact with power of the music.

Deep down sometimes I realise that the only way to deal with a lot of this stuff is acceptance, sometimes you’re making it a lot harder on yourself than it needs to be by not accepting something.

I think a lot of us to some extent reach a point where we wish we’d let go or made sense of something that we’d let hold us for a long time.

That’s why I go to music and art and creativity to help me talk about stuff, paint narratives that help to resolve the issues deep down, often understanding how you feel is the most important part to letting go of it. Maybe. Or y’know, it turns up a whole lot of other shit, but hey, that can be fun too right?

So often my art is driven by the urge to revisit certain feelings and understand them, so what I’m saying is how can I hope to understand these feelings better if the art I’m producing isn’t honest?

To me, dropping an uplifting drum’n bass banger that moved dancefloors worldwide would be a life long dream come true but not if it’s not real, that’s not where I’m going.

Y’know how can you expect your art to shine if the well you’re pumping ain’t deep? If you’re not going to go deep how can you hope to produce something exceptional?

So that’s why I followed some of the concepts and themes I have because I felt they were a result of coming back with a plan to turn up product and work that is real.

That’s why the youtube and video stuff has become so important to me because I think thats the realest thing I can do. I think writing half decent songs and taking video from my real life on the fly that follows weird stories and characters and mixing it up is the best way to move forward because what I hope is that something fairly amateur will develop into something valauable over a 2-3 year journey.

The point being – making music, shooting video and telling stories every week is going to create powerful momentum, for me to get deeper into what I’m doing, and create quality meaningful entertainment and experience.

to be continued . . .
