Well it’s happened.
I’m not going to tell you what’s happened out of respect for the parties involved but it’s definitely time to re-evaluate the situation.
I guess I’m like, well I’m free to do what I please and obviously I’m going to be getting on with it. I pretty much know what I have to do.
I’m on a new buzz and I’ve got a new place and I’m on a new buzz.
Uh? Yeah I got a big burly garden. There’s a possibly scary shed. I’ll just make the “Haunted Garden” video in my garden. I just thought of it then. There’ll be the Microscope mix of all the songs, the Haunted Microscope EP for the main tracks, and a minimix with a video called “Haunted Garden” make 10 minutes long and I’ll shoot it in my garden.
Basically the microscope is about analysis and understanding, but in the haunted garden, past lives and old lives are trying come at the new house. So in the garden, the ghost of our old life . . . appears.
Old lives haunt you in the garden. So you can’t get out the microscope and understand because old lives haunt your thinking.
So basically I want to do this in 3 months. But there are some problems.
Engineering is one problem. I’ll just spend money on it for the ep songs. The mix will be ruff. Oh well, I’m like this video guy anyway, I want to make the haunted garden video. Sometimes it will be deep, sometimes it will have meaning, or be spooky, but also when “Polyps” and other deep dense funk struts out I want the ghosts to start getting funky and busting moves.
Like “Spirited away” the ghosts are inexplicable and curious, they’re funky and frightening. In the garage lies the deep depth of the secret. Oblivion.
And it doesn’t matter if I’m old. I making realness in my back yard. You can download the mix or get one of the main songs, or you can just play the minimix with the vid on youtube. So I’m not too old to be doing meaningful ghosts?
I think Reality Compound is good as the character I designed. I strive in business but old ghosts keep calling me back. Western Springs College, getting into trouble, getting into beats and doing gigs, myspace and doing my business, it calls me and says “Stop.”
What does this mean. Once you did this, and now you do that, once there was a moment, that can’t be taken away because you still remember it.
So yeah I’m too old to be a goofball, I have to do meaningful stuff about ghosts. But aren’t I supposed to be old? Well my art is an extention of my character. I don’t do art because I should, but because I have to.
That’s the vibe, I should just do my business, throw away my silly plans and settle down with the girl but I can’t let go, the only way I can talk to the ghosts is to write a song, and the video is an extention of that, which says, it’s just a song, its just a video, its just a vibe.
SIngers come in, I get a bass and a keyboard, write different stuff, mash it up, do videos, work away on my website as the archive that connects the past of the narrative to whatever is current.
I’ve made the right move, now I just have to follow it up.
