I’m excited about getting my bass and hitting the road as this crazy pirate, DJ, marketing guy who can do CD and DVD copying right there on the spot, and fly in cheap printing from auckland like an airstrike.
Sure my business wouldn’t run as efficiently as in auckland, but I would make up for it by wangling new deals for cd dvd duplication and printing, and getting marketing relationships going on around the country.
I can still do my online music marketing on the road, and I’d have people here in auckland taking care of other stuff, as I would also be hustling some trade wherever I go.
A grand in kurb business, a grand in online stuff and other hustles, and a grand on the road. minus $500 for weekly travel and accomodation.
I think my standing and support as a musician and a pirate and a marketing guy would increase through ongoing contacts and develoment.
I’d need a year to complete the platform, and come up with strategies so that music, pirate and marketing stuff could all feed into their own seperate avenues, not hidden, but not enough to confuse.
if music or pirate parents find out I do cheap printing and disc duplicattion and marketing – or vice versa – then great.
That’s what I see, is that at some point my adventures will highlight the fact that I provide these services and they will get printing or discs or marketing off me because they support what I do as a musician or a pirate.
I just got this image of me jamming a mixtape onstage and working on my clients marketing like at 10pm as crowds are just coming in, y’know I could do a four hour show, but a hour I could just stand there and work, or work the crowd, having the whole experience be part of it.
Again just like having somewhere to stay,I might have to have DJ’s or performers I can call on to play while I work the crowd for video and other opportunities.
The thing is how am I going to get the bookings to kick it off? I need to focus on the school’s and getting them to book the pirate for $500, and then maybe sell some extra DVD’s for $10. Once I know I’ve got a pirate gig, and I can go about organising a DJ gig in the area.
But still I’ll need to build my profile to do that, but that’s something to look forward to, knowing you can pull 50 people anywhere and get a fee anywhere you call.
It would be nice if there was a pirate thing I could do on the casual so if I had a day I could do something to make a couple of hundred dollars. I could talk to the councils? Use the schools or other networks?
Set up a seminar in the library – again, I could talk to the local council or business association abot doing 2 hour long sessions on online marketing, and making income online – y’know, one for business owners, and the other for unemployed.
But I could set up in th library and have 10 people pay $45 for an hour long presentation, dvd and 10 minute consultation. Or $20 a head and $95 for 1 of 2 hour long consultations only available for ticket holders?
so I’ve got 2 $500’s, how could I score a $500 for my gigs? always have a sidekick? Guided tour style, just like I envisioned. No wait. The master and the apprentice. Let’s keep talking about it.
It’s a permanent tour baby. Viva la revolution
