Romantech’s Picture of the Possibility

by Matt Romantech on August 22, 2010

Oh gosh we’re all out of chronologicity.

When I posted a previous draft it ended up appearing previously in the timeline so if I’m dead and somebody is voraciously researching this material in like a million years from now, they’ll want to know that the post that appeared at july 28 was actually written today, 3 weeks later.

What are you gonna do?

I dunno I was in some smug mood about something. But anyway, I need to take some photos.

That way I can get all my websites looking much smarter with some big flagship, well shot, photos of myself.

I was going shamelessly with the suit and the 2 beamers and the decks and the laptop.

It tells a story.

With my laptop and my decks, rolling in my beamer, I’m down.

In my suit, I’m ready to do business, I’m not there to be some cheese ass cool DJ, I’m in for the business. I’m not a DJ. I do business, I just happen to make beats and mix them. I do. If I wasn’t in business I couldn’t do that so if you happen to like what I do, it’s a bonus.

These are just my tools, I roll in my ride, and my laptop and my decks mean I can do business and also start the party anywhere.

Anything is possible, and it’s all open ended. The possibility exists.

The city represents the possibilities and the darkened street is the forgotten places and the partied out is the endless continuation, like the future, the past and the end of the moment.

But also my beamers, y’know that’s not only cos I roll, but it’s because I have worked hard and built up my own business, I’m not some sad dude, I am a frickin balla. I have 2 sweet black bmw’s. I wish it was something else, but that’s what it is. I’m on my laptop, I’m in my beamer, I’m doing business, I’m doing music, I’m on the move.

I might have a before and after, one looking serious standing in a suit and also one in casual wear against the city, and finally one sitting down leaning up against the cars no jacket, sleeves rolled up, partied out.

On the music marketing blog I want a business like juxtaposition with me on the laptop, one beamer and the decks and bass as props

And I need one proper business one with no cars.

The romantech one will be one main portrait with the jack of hearts, with beamers in business against the city, casual in a darkened place, and partied out bathed in light.

Or really we just have to wait and see what we get knowing we’re putting the above ingredients in.

These pictures set a tone but they’re also designed to frame whats on the page:

my video, my music, newsletter sign up, access to blogs and archives.

We’re trying to get people onto my newsletter, twitter, and youtube, forget facebook and myspace for now.

the goals are to get 50 people to come to a gig and 500 on the list, remember the list? Oh and get some gigs.

Could we seriously get 1000 people on a list and sell them stuff? I guess we can only try. I think by that stage it would take over a little more of my life, and I’d have to think about that then.

First I gotta do my photos.

MORE EVIL PLANS HATCHED?

Incredible Discounts when Paying by Credit Card:

Did you know if you have a credit card you can get an incredible discount?

The idea is that you must confirm it works before barrelling into developing infrastructure. Once it can be proven to deliver revenue then you can start ramping.

Diverting heaps of lesser quality leads into trash credit card offers.

Not just music marketing and video marketing also, but graphic design, talent for the talent agency, random local leads on small posters and disc copying jobs. Oh and the artist list too.

We expect 1 or 2 per month.

You can go as far as to target people, but eventually you’re going to assemble a group who know the deal and will keep coming back, with the ability to dig up new credit cards from their friends etc.
