Kid’s Conspiracy Time: Reality Punch and Fantasy Judy

by Matt Romantech on July 28, 2011

We’re back with the fantasy vs. reality show down, things were getting ropey enough as it is around here when things got tense between the two meta-paradigms and it’s been pretty much like . . . let’s just stand back and let these two sort it out. And doctor in charge of my treatment – well he doesn’t get a say on this.

It has not looked good for reality so far.

But you can’t be pissed off if you know the rules but refuse to play by them. That you accept fantasy because reality is to hard.

Could this be the moment reality strikes back?

Not so fast.

The main thing fantasy has over reality is that reality is boring. I’ve worked to make a fantasy come alive and it is hard work. It’s a struggle to efficiently create more connections, more vibes, to be successful in real life. But art and narrative ca be a place where artists can experience fantasy and play with concepts without being scorned and scraped over by the abrasive truth.

That’s not the artist I ever wanted to be – going on about goblins and elves and talking animals and nonsense. That’s not real. That’s baby’s stuff.

So what’s on the blog today, Mr. Romantech?

Well listen up kids, because old Romantech is gonna be blithering on about some nonsense whether you care or not! And we’re going to have some fun friends on the show – Charlie Brooker and Lord Jonathon! YYYYYAYAAYAYAYYAYYYY!

What about Hamlet, prince of Denmark, do you want to see him on the show today?

NOOOOO!!!!! BOOOOOOOO!!! STINKY HAMLET!!!

But it’s okay, okay? Today I found out that the world is a very big place and there’s plenty to think about. There really is. It’s no wonder you might have to start a blog where you go on and on because as you get older the more information you’re strying to stuff into your head, the easier it is to become completely dazed by every day activities such as walking down the street.

There’s just so much in the world that needs to be seriously considered.

My conspiracy theorist mate told me that the bilderberg group were all occultist psychopaths and I guess I was like . . . and? Does it make any difference?

To me it makes sense that if I was one of the 800 billionaires, I would obviously call up all the other billionaires and say . . . well . . . why don’t we start a club so we can work out how to sort things out nicely for ourselves. Obviously they must be aware in the highest order, of their vulnerability to the wild masses, their very existence is so unnatural it must be protected and so you get all this insidious indoctrination and subjugation.

The funny thing about conspiracy theories, is that it’s all yes, yes and yes, but it’s not nearly as sinister as it’s portrayed. It’s nice to have a bunch wild ideas, but who knows? Who knows if they’re just trying to frighten us? The bogey man is gonna get you!

I thought the revolution was imminent. That was 10 years ago, I don’t think I’ll be making that mistake again. But if something serious goes down, I mean it’s not completely unlikely that a worldwide depression could force massive political change. Will it really be pain for middle class society or will things just continue as they are? Is it the media that keeps us afraid, because honestly my life doesn’t feel like we’re heading to some meltdown of capitalist society.

But I guess it’s a good idea to have a plan.

Why did I start going on about this?

Is my mind not poisoned by the capitalist fantasy, am I not ruined?

What’s the use in me wanting cars and girls and clothes and to be out trying new restaurants and bars, what purpose does it serve
